Death Wish (2015)

This sculpture focuses on the irony behind the wishbone superstition.

I preserved the wishbone for two years to give it time to dry out. Instead of breaking the wishbone after being dried out, I painted it black and mounted it on a black pedestal. The irony is that individuals utilize the bone of a dead bird to give themselves luck, not realizing that the bird’s luck has already ended.
